At the cornerstone of this enclave lies an 18 hole golf course designed by Bob Cupp that is as beautiful as it is challenging. Monday/Tuesday Ice Storm
The ice storm this week hit Hawks Ridge really hard. We have considerable trees and limbs down throughout the course. Most of the limb damage was from the pine trees. We have rented a chipper and are making progress. Phase 1 is chipping all the big limbs then Phase 2 will be raking up and blowing all the smaller debris. There was no damage done to the greens or the tees. The majority of the debris is on the edges.  The cleanup will take approximately two weeks.  The course will be closed thru the weekend and we hope to reopen first of next week. The Clubhouse will remain open for dining services, unless notified otherwise.  I will give you another update first of next week to inform you of the progress.

Winter Projects
Golf Course Maintenance has accomplished many projects this winter. Most recently, we have leveled and added more steps by the green on #4 and at the gold tee on #8.

We have also continued to remove dead trees throughout the course, most recently around #14 gold tee. The stumps are an obvious eyesore. We will be grinding and eliminating them in the next few weeks.

Another project we are working on is re-landscaping around #1 black tee. We have removed all the overgrown mess and are consulting with a landscape architect for a beautiful design.

The pre-emerging of the golf course for summer weeds is complete. As a reminder for all homeowners, you need to have your yard done by the first of March to prevent summer weeds from infiltrating your lawn.

Golf Course Maintenance is looking forward to the warmer spring! As always, if you have any questions or concerns about the course please feel free to give me a call.
